Gallery: Crazy DIY Bike Runs With Electric Drill and Car Batteries

 

A cyclist has made the ultimate DIY bicycle — complete with electric motor, comfortable office-chair seat and of course, a beer cooler. Powered by two car batteries running through a power inverter, the “bike” scoots along thanks to an electric power drill that is powered by a 120v wall current. The hodge podge design also incorporates several bike frames and eight wheels.

    It would be better if they didnt kill the peddles. This would extend the usable range to preety much how ever far you car to go.
    Also the batteries on the front may do better in that boxed section under the seat (better center of gravity & such). you could also hook up an autonator style recharge (like automobiles have) with a solar panel to increase recharge ability. You now have a power bike that can run indefinetly on its on charging capibilities. Other wise your just limited to the milage you can pull off of the batteries or walking while pushing…

    Good concept for a proto-type. But needs a bit more to actually be worth the time and/or money into making it in my opinion.

    As for the duct tape on it, is that ALL thats holding it together??? Would have to put atleast some spot weilds on it so it doesnt fall apart when it hits a good bump.lol

    Actually, that would be “dune” buggy, not “doon”…yet looking at this mishmash of bike parts and duct tape, I’d have to say it’s spelled “doom”.
