Gallery: Crazy Water Capsule Concept Could Keep Flooding Victims Dry an...

With ice caps melting left and right, global flooding of biblical proportions may not seem so far-fetched anymore. That's why Jay Stoughtenger came up with his air and solar-powered Water Capsule as an exciting alternative to depressing end-of-times rhetoric. Made out of white fiberglass-reinforced panels and illuminated with 2 skylights and a window that looks down into the sea, the floating vessel distracts flood victims with a glamorous, dreamy environment while offering a way to weather rising tides.

Once transported to the floating capsule via a hot air dirigible, flood victims (albeit probably the most privileged of them) are instantly immersed in a futuristic setting. It’s not an especially large space, but it does have all of the necessary amenities including reverse osmosis technology that makes salt water potable as well as gray water recycling. This crazy-looking capsule gets its energy from the sun and air, which we hope are resources that will never run out.
