As this year's London Design Festival gets underway, UK furniture designer Paul Kelley will wow visitors with his new line of magnetic modular furniture. The BOB collection features copper-clad cubes that are magnetized to form furniture that comes with endless configuration potential.
The BOB copper-clad cubes can be self-attached in a variety of multifunctional configurations, essentially allowing the customer to build custom sized tables, chairs, room dividers, stools, benches, etc. The flexible magnetic system makes the cubes easy to connect, yet strong enough for almost any type of use. Additionally, the cubes are compact and lightweight, allowing for easy assembly and storage.
According to the designer, “The idea behind BOB is to design a product for everyone. Something that, although produced in high quantities, can be very individual because it’s up to the end user how it looks and how it ages. A product that functions and makes you smile at the same time.”
The BOB collection will be displayed at the 100% Design event at Earl’s Court from September 17-20, 2014.
