Castles are pretty hard to come by in New York, so if you’ve ever passed by this one on your way upstate, you probably wondered about its history. Named Bannerman Castle, after the Scottish ammunition dealer who had it built, the wondrous structure dates back to the 1900s but has fallen into disrepair over the years. Now, preservationists are working to restore this fascinating building and bring it back to its former glory.
