Gallery: Dala Furniture Recycles Food and Drink Packaging Into Luxury F...

Recently unveiled at Milan Design Week, DALA furniture is made entirely from a new material developed by German firm DEDON. Created by young American designer Stephen Burks, these brilliant, resourceful pieces are entirely made from recyclable and recycled materials including food and drink packaging. A trip to Senegal and a few meetings with local skillful artisans was Burks’ starting point for developing this eco-friendly happy collection.

DALA Furniture is made by delicately weaving DEDON’s new material of recycled packaging mixed with recyclable polyethylene through an aluminum structural mesh. It consists of a lounge chair, an ottoman, and a stool that doubles up as side table. Lightweight, brilliant and made from loads of landfill diverted waste, DALA perfectly combines skillful techniques with a luxurious style.
