These quirky sculptures from Dan Cretu are crafted entirely out of food to resemble the most average of household objects. The result? A colorful array of photographs from the visual artist and photographer that experiment with edible tidbits, transforming them into a camera, a football, and even a mini bicycle! By playing with food, Cretu adapts some of the most common fruits and veggies and gives them a new form, making even an orange sneaker look tasty enough to eat.

We are used to seeing food being transformed into contemporary art – from an edible cherry blossom mosaic to Matthew Carden’s food photography. Yet this bright series of images are pretty iconic, and create a fun and often fruity alternative to everyday objects. Take a look at Cretu’s facebook page for more information and images of the colorful works.
