Designed around EngineAir Australia‘s compressed air-powered rotary engine, this concept scooter was developed as a part of a 3rd year studio project by Darby Bicheno at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. Using an engine that has been demonstrated to be capable of powering a dirtbike, Darby based his concept around ecology and utility, cutting the bike back to its bare essentials. Steam-pressed bamboo is used in lieu of plastic to give the ride a unique, head-turning aesthetic that draws viewer’s eyes to the engine design and scuba fuel tank. And as a part of Bicheno’s studio, he 3D printed a 1:5 scale model of the bike. See more over at his website.
