We all know that water is an essential part of our lives — we are about 70% water and we would die without it in a couple of days – but sometimes we just take it for granted. To highlight the importance of water, Dutch designer Dave Hakkens created “A Single Drop” – a thoughtful set of three low-tech games that can be played with just a single drop of water.
Before deciding that wood was the best material choice, Hakkens tested out different hydrophobic materials and surfaces. Using nano-technology he made a series of games that can be held by hand interacting with just a single drop of water. Low-tech, playful and very simple, Hakkens‘ latest project highlights the beauty and importance of the Earth’s 70% surface.
