Gallery: David Mach’s Massive Waves of Recycled Magazines Sweep up Cars...

Gridlock, magazines and cars, Galerie IUFM (Confluences), Lyon 2001

David Mach has showcased his installations in a number of exhibitions in some of the most prestigious places in the world. In ‘Adding Fuel to Fire’ shown at the Metronom Gallery, Barcelona in 1987, David Mach combined objects such as cars along with discarded magazines.’The Great Outdoors’ was shown at the Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati in 1988. The full-sized aiplane placed in the middle middle testifies to the massive scale of the installation.

In a recent interview, Mach said, “I’m a materials junkie, I just can’t get my hands on enough stuff to make things with.” Even today, Mach is continuing with his unconventional sculptures, using everyday objects such as matchsticks and coat hangers – simple things used in an unimaginably intricate ways.
