Gallery: Decaying 17th Century Italian Farmhouse Preserved as Sustainab...

We're always raving about urban garden transformations, and this initiative to save a decaying 17th century Italian farmhouse from being razed to the ground in Milan is a great example of why we love these projects so much. Called Cascina Cuccagna, the formerly abandoned but still beautiful site includes over 4,000 square meters of buildings and garden areas that date back to 1695. A diverse group of architects and designers are working together to transform the plot into a center dedicated to culture, the environment, social activities, and an urban garden for the public to enjoy.
