Decorex Paints the Town Green with Showcase of Eco-Furnishings at London Design Festival

Volga Linen  is a family-run company that sells pure linen by the meter, table linen, bed linen and ready to hang curtains. Linen is a naturally environmentally friendly material; flax needs less fertilizers and pesticides than other crops and has a short growing cycle which makes it quickly a renewable resource.
Paul Case’s  Spyder Collection is made and largely sold in Britain and has recently been shortlisted for the Wood Awards. All timbers are FSC or PEFC certified, and their veneered table tops mean less timber is needed for each piece. Sawdust from the workshop is given to a local stables for bedding and the offcuts go into heating Case’s family home.
Moon ‘s woolen fabrics are manufactured at their vertical plant in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, from where they control the whole production process from dyeing and blending the wool fibers to spinning the yarns, weaving and then finishing the fabrics. The company was founded by Abraham Moon in 1837, the year Queen Victoria succeeded to the British throne.
GoodWeave  is a not-for-profit organization which operates the GoodWeave certification program, that aims to end illegal child labor in the rug manufacturing industry and offers educational opportunities to children in South Asia. They are in the process of adding environmental criteria to their accreditation and are showing the winning entries to their 2012 student competition at Decorex to raise awareness.
Little Greene  is an independent British paint manufacturer who in 2004 became one of the first in the UK to achieve the European environmental standard BS EN ISO 14001. Their water-based paints have a VOC content of virtually zero and carry the industry’s lowest eco-rating; and their oil based paints use sustainable vegetable oils.
And finally, it was nice to see that even the bar was constructed from sustainable cardboard tubes.
