Gallery: DEDODESIGN’s New Contemporary Art Museum in Buenos Aires Maxim...

When designing a new Contemporary Art Museum for Buenos Aires‘ Puerto Madero district, Shanghai-based architecture firm DEDODESIGN chose to depart from the classical architecture commonly found in the Argentine capital. Instead, the firm developed plans for a highly modern building that creates “a new spatial experience within the urban context,” according to the architects. Because of its tiny footprint, the building covers just 7 percent of the site, leaving more than 30,000 square feet of space open for a public plaza. The architects believe that the layout of the building and the surrounding plaza will enable visitors to experience the waterfront in new and interesting ways.
