DEDON’s “Nest Rest” is a piece of floating furniture that can be hung or sat on a base , resulting in a tranquil and private space . Sturdy yet light, it weighs less than 100kg and is 79 inch wide. It is made from a recyclable aluminum frame woven with a 1.5 inch wide special sustainable material called DEDON Fiber.
The fiber was developed in 1990 by famous German goalkeeper Bobby Dekeyser , who created the material for his family business and retired from football the same year. It is recyclable and probably the world’s first — and finest — synthetic resin fiber material. Its production implies zero waste , as every piece of aluminum off-cut or leftover strip of fiber gets sold or recycled back to make a new product.
