Forming the cornerstone of the commercial building is the historic seven-story Jean Batten Building, which was built in the modern style in 1942. The Jean Batten Building serves as one of the corners of the podium, which houses seven levels of commercial office space, high end retail and a cafe on top of four levels of underground parking.

    That tan brick building next to it is architecturally superior to the new tower. And far more worthy of my attention. We can be thankful the old buildings were spared the wrecking ball.

    This corporate glass monolith is on the corner of my street. It is hideous, and a blight on an already ugly and poorly planned city.
