The frame weighs that, sure no problem! The entire bike prolly weighs around 20lbs. Which doesn't say much about ride quality either ;) 20 years under my belt in the industry btw. But it does look cool!!! Until rocks, dirt, and mud get into all the crevices!!!!!

I think that headline is a little misleading. The FRAME weighs 2.74 lbs. Add to that frame, the wheels, the chain, the pedals, the brakes, the handlebars, etc. etc.
Built up, street bike weighs a little over 13 pounds.

Diane, I think the bike FRAME weighs 2.74 lbs. You are excused for your confusion, for the Arantix site is rather misleading about this statistic. But there's NO WAY an entire bike (including grupo and wheels) weighs that amount. Now, a 2.74 lb frame is pretty light, and I think Arantix is making the point that, for such a light frame, their truss-design is quite strong. All to the good. But let's keep the misinformation down to a mild roar, shall we?

To be clear, that's 2.74 pounds for the frame, not for the complete bike.

FWIW, you can get a titanium frame that comes in at 2.6 pounds (http://www.sevencycles.com/road/axiom-slx.php), almost certainly costs less, and won't cheese-grate your thighs.
