Calling all eco-conscious design students! GreenHomeNYC is currently on the hunt for a group of young, green designers ready and willing to create a collection of sustainable furniture for October’s The NEW New York event. GreenHomeNYC is asking for concept sketches of designs that express both an interesting aesthetic and feasible construction; submissions can be any kind of furniture/environmental objects, but should always employ sustainable materials. Ten finalists will be selected by a professional jury (including our very own founder Jill Fehrenbacher), and these participants will have access to a wealth of free materials from Build it Green and Film Biz Recycling, along with a host of support from the jurors. Students will also receive press from various architecture and design blogs, including Inhabitat, and extensive coverage on GreenHomeNYC‘s blog. The deadline to enter is August 22nd, so hop to it!
