The 2012 Intelligent Use of Water Film Competition — an environmentally focused short film competition — is seeking narrative, documentary, animated, experimental and student-made short films that creatively explore methods and ideas of caring for and using Earth’s most precious resource: water. Finalists have a chance to win a cash prize of $15,000 and a trip to Beverly Hills for a formal screening event hosted by wildlife expert Jack Hanna. The deadline to enter is August 15, 2012.

One prize of $10,000 will be awarded to the filmmaker whose film is selected by a panel of independent judges. A second prize of $5,000 will be awarded to the filmmaker whose film receives the most online votes from a live audience present at the screening event. A single film may be selected for both prizes.
