Do you have a bold vision for a healthier and greener built future? If so, the X-Prize Foundation wants to hear them. We’ve teamed up with the X-Prize Foundation and Lowe’s to launch the BioDesign Competition, a contest that will reward the winner with a $1,000 cash prize. Open to all interested individuals over 18 years of age, the two week-long BioDesign Competition seeks radical and innovative architecture proposals for a variety of categories, including but not limited to living spaces, single-family homes, primary schools, and informal slum dwellings. The winner of BioDesign will receive a cash prize of $1,000, while the winners of each category will receive Lowe’s gift cards and signed architecture books. Winning entries will also be displayed at an exhibition at the XPRIZE Visioneering Summit 2016 in Los Angeles. The submission deadline is August 31, 2016 at 11:59 PST.

AWARD/PRIZE

The winner of BioDesign Futures will receive a cash prize of $1000.

Winners in each category will also receive gift cards from Lowe’s as well as signed copies of “Sustainable School Architecture” by Eric Corey Freed and “The Restorative Home” by David Hertz. There will be honorable mentions in each category, the number determined by the jury.

The winning entries will be displayed at an exhibition at the XPRIZE VIsioneering Summit 2016 in Los Angeles at the end of September 2016. The winning entries will also be featured on Inhabitat.com.
