The Syrian refugee crisis needs your help. While the country’s civil war continues to rage on with no end in sight, MatterBetter is seeking out the help of architects and designers to prepare for the post-war future. While refugees continue to escape the country, there are those who hope to oneday return to their homeland; however, the war has left many towns in ruins, leaving Syrians who wish to return nowhere to come back to. To prepare for the future, MatterBetter has launched the Syria: Post-War Housing competition, an international call for ideas that seeks research proposals for new housing concepts. Both students and professionals are welcome to participate. The total prize pool is 6,000 Euro, which will be divided among the top three winners. The late registration deadline is April 23, 2016 and the closing date for submissions is May 8, 2016.
