London based designer and architect Rabih Hage has used scrap pieces of Corian [1] to make these fabulous pieces of angular furniture. The designs were presented by DuPont Corian at the 2012 Milan Furniture Fair [2] to celebrate their new color palette. Rabih wanted to use off-cuts and pieces of the material to make something beautiful, saying: “I have always been fascinated by unused material or discarded cuts of stone, wood or metal, whether cheap or expensive. Reusing these materials as a luxury product and treating the off-cuts as something precious is my real motivation.” He emphasized the spirit of upcycled design by noting “a discarded material is as noble and precious as a newly polished stone.”
