After five years of silence, Detroit Electric has resurfaced with the announcement that they will debut a battery-powered two-seater sports car on April 3rd. Headed up by former Lotus executive and Managing Director of Apple’s Asia operations Albert Lam, Detroit Electric promises to be the fourth automaker to be born in Motor City, creating 180 jobs by the end of 2013 with a production capacity of 2,500 luxury electric vehicles each year.
