Survival, instinct and adaptation in the natural world are unveiled in Life, a stunning documentary brought to viewers by the BBC and the Discovery Channel. A fitting follow-up to their 2007 collaboration, Planet Earth, Life will leave viewers with a new perspective of more than 30 million different animals and plants we share our planet with. Narrated by Oprah Winfrey, the 11-hour series makes its debut this Sunday at 8-10pm ET|PT on the Discovery Channel.

“In Planet Earth the habitats took center stage,” says Susan Winslow, executive producer for the Discovery Channel and of Life. “In Life, the animals – and, in one episode, plants – are the stars.”

“All the easy stuff has already been filmed; we wanted the rush of getting stuff no one’s shot before,” says Mike Gunton, creative director of the BBC‘s Natural History Unit and executive producer of Life. “I wanted to set the bar very high to bring new stories, new animals, and new ways of filming to every sequence.”

Life has to be one of the best shows on TV today. Seeing how the world works on TV is amazing. To be able to see Life in HD is that much better. I am a customer and employee of DISH Network, and I can say that there is no better way to experience Life than in HD through DISH Network. I get all my HD channels for free with my subscription, so it makes watching Life on Discovery Channel that much more amazing.

Im a HUGE fan of BBC and enjoy the ‘life’ series. But Oprah Winfrey.. Seriously?? Come on!! What does she know about biology/ecology of animals. When I heard her voice I was a little turned off about the show. We want David Attenborugh!!
