Though Sacramento is the capital of California, until now, never has a Sacramento-based architectural firm won ‘Firm of the Year’ from the AIA California Council. Sacramento’s Dreyfuss & Blackford Architects won the AIACC’s Firm of the Year for 2013. This means that for the first time in over 30 years a Los Angeles or San Francisco-based architectural firm didn’t walk away with the win.
Architecture, planning and interiors are among the disciplines that Dreyfuss & Blackford offer. With expertise in entertainment, aviation, courts, education, healthcare, industrial, office and parking garages, their dedication to providing quality innovation and lasting value is unmatched in Sacramento. Like many Sacramento firms, Dreyfuss & Blackford have spent many years relying on the state of California to be the bulk of their client base. Most recently, they have found a niche in providing designs for complex headquarters facilities for large companies and public organizations. Some of these notable projects include the California ISO Headquarters, CalPERS Headquarters, and the Sacramento International Airport.
Dreyfuss & Blackford is one of the oldest firms in in the city. The firm has deep roots in the modernist tradition and they believe in sustainability, producing well-rounded, innovative, and energy efficient designs all around California. After 60 years of success and over 100 regional and national awards, this architectural firm deserves every ounce of this recognition. Congrats!
