Tonight at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, o2NYC will host an open forum on the always impressive Dutch design force Droog. Known for their engaging, innovative, and endearing designs that often speak to issues of sustainability, Droog has consistently produced objects that are both thought-provoking and functional.
Their exhibition, entitled “Simply Droog: 10 + 3 years of creating innovation and discussion,” has been on view at the Museum of Arts and Design since mid-September, and will run through January 14th. Designed by Jurgen Bey, the traveling exhibition includes Droog signature pieces such as Tejo Remy’s Chest of Drawers, as well as a slew of less well-known but equally impressive work like Chris Kabel’s fantastic Parasol ‘Shadylace’ and Sam Hecht’s Flex Lamp.
The open forum is TONIGHT New Yorkers, so try to come on down if you can – the event should be really interesting.
The event, free with Museum admission, begins at 6 p.m. and is hosted by sustainable design group o2NYC. The forum will include a discussion of Droog’s unique design vision, materiality, consumption, and issues surrounding sustainability and responsible design. Stay tuned for our post-event coverage to follow!
