Gallery: Dwell Houses We Love – Vote For Your Favorite One!

Thacher

The Thacher home in Petaluma is a Pop-Up house, which was shipped flat-packed and then assembled on site. Built out of prefabricated SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) and it features a protective house port over the home that shades it from the sun and allows for circulation.

All of the houses are, of course, stunning, but you know how we are – we’re partial to eco-friendly materials, energy efficiency, natural daylighting and renewable energy. We found six houses that piqued our interest, many of which had a strong focus on green interiors and daylighting. The grand-prize winner will be announced at Dwell on Design in Los Angeles this summer, and the home will also be featured in the 10th Anniversary Issue! Good luck in the competition and we can’t wait to see who wins!
