"why can't we wean ourselves off of this obsession with the automobile"? because automobiles are fun fun fun (and sexy too) people will always love their cars. no point trying to fight that, unless futility gets your rocks off.. trying to reduce their enviromental impact is a positive thing. its through sexy projects like this that the tech gets perfected so that one day the jomings of the world can ride electric buses to their locally grown vegan paradises.

What frustrates me about supercars like this is that while it is a high performance vehicle capable of competing with conventional vehicles, it's not really a shift in terms of thinking. What is the environmental/energy cost associated with producing the Li-Tec battery? Why can't we wean ourselves off of this obsession with the automobile, and ever-increasing specs for horsepower and torque, and start looking at changing the way we look at transportation and the way we move people and goods.
