This is as green as rechargable batteries are…. nothing special, it might be considered just a bit more prectical for several occasions. We should be looking for ways to reduce energy use. That’s the idea! With those we might lose some extra garbage-used-batteries,,, which is still good.

how is this any greener than regular rechargeables? a solar powered battery charger might be a better story, but they’re old news. this is a great example of greenwashing – there’s nothing new or environmentally positive about this. not green.

I ordered a bunch of these when they came out last year and used them as Christmas presents. They are great! So useful for travel mice / controllers.

Designated I think the point is that this will make rechargable batteries easier and more popular, which in terms of the problems caused by disposable batteries is an entirely positive thing. Whether you charge the same battery repeatedly or several new ones, roughly the same amount of electricity is used either way.

How is this green!?!

Are you kidding me?

Now every battery has to have the circuitry to enable charging, instead of having it in one place for all? Oh, and the capacity of the batteries is far less than it would be for other rechargeables because of the reduced volume.

Convenient? Yes, I’d say so, but calling this green is flat out wrong.
