Garden offices offer a great solution for people who work from home and small business owners who are squeezed for space. eDEN Garden Rooms, a UK company that specializes in designing and building small, stand-alone offices and studios, has recently completed several garden rooms. The structures have a low environmental impact, and they provide homeowners with a great workspace, reducing the need to travel to and from the office.
eDEN’s most recent garden office is located in the trendy seaside town of Whitstable, where it provides a calm and tranquil space from which the homeowner can run his small business. Positioned in the corner of a small sea-facing garden, it has an overall height of 8.2 feet, and it has just under 160 square feet of floor space.
To ensure light and air flows into the work space, French doors and a tilt-and-turn window were added. Both the doors and windows are highly efficient, ensuring cold is kept out in the summer and that summer heat is maintained at an even temperature. And to maintain year-round use and to ensure it is comfortable in the harshest of UK winters the garden office is insulated in the walls, floors and ceilings with underfloor heating provide all-round ambient heat.
