		<description>This type of hyperbole is so frustrating.  China has a lock on lithium and the vast majority of electricity is generated by coal.  As long as these two facts remain widespread adoption of electric cars will but trade one foreign monopoly for another and worsen air pollution.</description>

		<description>That&#039;s only part of the solution; electric cars alone are far from the answer to gov&#039;t over-spending on road infrastructure and the nasty effects of urban traffic congestion. Electric cars help solve one problem (energy) by transferring consumption from oil to nuclear (another problem &amp; NIMBY), but efficient public transport systems and investment on adopting soft-mode mobility (namely bicycles and pedestrian mobility) are far more important and effective than concentrating solely on expensive and sophisticated electric vehicles which will bring about other complicated issues regarding waste, electrical consumption, etc.</description>
