Energy company Enfinity opened two beautiful new photovoltaic farms in Le Mées, France last month, proving that solar power can be an aesthetically-pleasing form of renewable energy. These enormous energy landscapes occupy over 80 acres of land and are capable of generating enough carbon-free electricity to to power 9,000 homes.
Enfinity‘s new solar farms span the lengths of the rolling French hills, while grass surrounds the panels, encouraging sheep to graze freely. Designed with the future in mind, the panels were installed without laying concrete foundations, so after two decades have passed and the solar panels are removed, a huge expanse of healthy grassland will remain.

@ jwp It is absolutely beautiful, by comparison, have you ever seen an oil drilling field? Even worse, have you ever seen what it looks like after the oil reserve has been drained dry? I took a trip through Odessa Texas, USA, once and it was horrendously ugly, a thick grey smog covering the ground, it stank, and the motion of the oil drills was like aliens sucking blood out of the earth. I also doubt that the land is much use for anything else afterwards.
beautiful? hmmm…
i like green energy, but i don’t think i would go so far to say it was beautiful. it looks pretty much like every other solar farm…a large expanse of metal and mirrors.
Amazing!
