We all know that salt is essential for cooking, but did you know that it can also be used to make home furnishings? We spotted these good-looking lamps at this year’s London Design Festival and were fascinated to find out that they’re actually made of everyone’s favorite savory substance from the sea. I saw a project a while ago with salt and a synthetic binder, it got an IF award. It’s on page 25 of this booklet – have had a look but can’t find any other info on the net: http://www.ifdesign.de/bin/presse-download.php?file=186 Looks like they’ve basically taken this designer’s idea… I guess you have to take this project with a ‘pinch’ of salt!
No they will not, trust me i tested them
