Follow the Current was easily one of the most exciting installations at this year’s VIVID Sydney festival. Comprised of digitally-printed designs on lycra and chiffon, along with fins, bobble eyes, and giant teeth – all made with about 50 meters of fabric donated by Sublitech – each anglerfish is wrapped around a bicycle fitted with fish-shaped accessories.
Illuminated from within, the fish then “swam” around the city streets, wowing spectators with their otherworldly presence. This is the first time we have featured work by this Australian collective, but we have a very sneaky suspicion that it won’t be the last!
