This new house by Evolve Architecture [1] is situated on a backland site of old allotments in Ealing, London. It was designed with a collection of pitched roofs rising towards the centre of the site and low at the boundaries. The L-shaped design offers views onto the garden [2] and the house itself. The open plan kitchen is at a raised half story level with bedrooms below. The facade is clad in grey spruce echoing the timber fences around. The finished house is spacious with an intimate quality of an oasis within the city.
