We were excited today to see Honda roll out its hot new hybrid version of its legendary NSX sports car at the 2012 North American International Auto Show. The original vehicle was a technological marvel in its day but sales eventually petered out around 2005, due to competition from other high-performance sports cars that were flooding the market. Automotive media folk have been speculating for years now that Honda was developing a replacement for the NSX, and the company has finally sated our appetite in the guise of this gorgeous Acura NSX Concept. The new NSX Concept combines a new direct-injected 3.5-liter V6 engine with a 40-horsepower motor, plus two more 27-horsepower motors at the rear wheels, while reducing consumption by 10 percent and increasing output by 5 percent. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and Honda’s latest version of their “Super Handling All-Wheel Drive” system complete the tight-cornering package.
