Faberhaus Pavilion: Tiny, Off-Grid Eco Cottage For Nature Lovers

This compact little dwelling unit comes complete with everything you might need, including a full kitchen, dining area, bathroom, living and a loft bedroom. Accessed via a ladder, the loft is large enough to sleep two children and two adults. Meanwhile, the kitchen table and bench are designed to fold up for extra space or can be converted [9] into a bed for an adult and then the couch can sleep an additional two adults.
Passive solar heating and cooling and natural ventilation minimize the mini home’s energy usage. Solar panels [10] on the roof provide off-grid power [11] for the LED lighting and propane powers the stove, refrigerator and radiant floor heating. Built in Faberca’s factory in Quebec, the prefab home is delivered to the site 95% complete with polished concrete floors on the lower level, laminated wood floors on the upper, furniture, walnut cupboards, concrete counters/sinks, appliances and large windows.
Installation of the home can happen on almost any site and has only a small impact on the land due to minimal requirements for a foundation or footing. Starting at $89,000 a pop these little prefab homes include everything you need to live off the land without a grid connection. You can check out the Faberhaus Pavilion live during the The City & Suburb Home Show [12] in Montreal from February 24-27th.
