Surprisingly, Mayer does not solder, glue, weld, or use other chemical bonds to create these metal sculptures – all of the joinery is done through “cold assembly.” Certainly imaginative, his works have grown out of his childhood fascination with typewriters, where he found himself breaking apart the machines for more than ten years.
