Bike share programs seem to be on the rise everywhere except New York City (curses!), but the trend is slowly inching closer to the Big Apple with shares popping up in the municipalities of Long Beach, Long Island and the other in Simsbury, Connecticut. The two municipalities are working on their own bike initiatives, with Simsbury’s already up and running, and Long Beach’s set to launch this fall. The programs are the first municipal run bike share programs in the tri-state area.
