The first official test drives of the Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid will take place next week during the Michelin Challenge Bibendum, a symposium on sustainable transportation for the future that this year is being hosted by Berlin. The theme of this year’s event is “Clean Safe Connected,” and will make a fitting backdrop for the rollout of Volvo’s versatile new PHEV.

    I want this car so bad and really hope it will be sold in the US. I would buy one in cash the day it arrives. Volvo, did you hear that? I said cash on the day it arrives. Volvo, did you hear that?

    In general, we need more diesels and wagons in the US. Why is it that Nissan can sell a silly convertible crossover, Honda can sell a hideous Accord Crosstour, and BMW can sell a bizarre 5 series GT yet a decent all wheel drive, diesel, hybrid, wagon is some sort of gamble. Ridiculous.
