Fisker Unveils First Karma Hybrid Fresh from the Assembly Line

Last year we showcased the Karma 1 [4], a plug-in hybrid that can go from zero to 60 in under six seconds, has a top speed of 120 mph, and offers an average fuel efficiency of 100 mpg. Designed by Henrik Fisker [5], the man behind Aston Martin’s DB9, V8 Vantage and the BMW Z8, this sexy hybrid has overcome a series of funding and logistical issues, and Fisker rolled out the first working production unit this week!
The Karma 1 has been produced to perfection, and it is expected that production will increase as demand rises. Company spokesman Roger Ormisher [6] said that they aim to make “over 7,000 deliveries” by year’s end.
While the Chevy Volt and the Nissan Leaf [7] may be incredibly efficient, they are nowhere near as stunning as this vehicle. As a result, expect demand to rocket when the car goes on general release. There’s only one question: can you afford the $88,000 price tag?
