Gallery: Foster + Partners Unveil Elegant LED FLO Lamp at Milan Furnitu...

Today Inhabitat favorite Foster + Partners announced their bold move in the lighting realm with their eco-friendly and elegant FLO lamps. Debuting at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, the new reading lamps combine the latest dimmable LED technology with a clean and slender aluminum form balanced upon a circular steel base.

Each FLO lamp features a delicate profile that eliminates the needs for superfluous extremities such as moving parts, coiled and springs — but surprisingly, the lamp is flexible enough to be rotated 300 degrees for direct task lighting. Each lamp features a 6 watt LED bulb that emits 475 lumens of low-energy light, and the citizen LED module is interchangeable and can be upgraded.

Developed in partnership with Italian lighting manufacturer, Lumina, the lamp will be available in both a floor and desktop version. If you are in Milan, you can see the lamp first hand at the Design Supermarket located at la Rinascente near Duomo.

Elegant, it looks like a socket wrench!! Which is fine if your house looks like nuts and bolts. It’s a fine product I’m sure but wouldn’t a classical lamp look better in a standard home.

Envelop desks fit into a one man office that is otherwise empty because they need a lot of space while moving around. And such offices belong to people that high up the food chain, they simply wouldn’t need it.

Elegant yes looks like a nice design. A FLO lamp would be a great addition to any desk! Especially the Envelop Desk made to help you have better health and comfort.
