Gallery: Free Bike-Powered Film Festival Launches in England

 

If you love bikes and are a film buff, you just might want to make your way to England as the Free Film Festival and Electric Pedals have teamed up to provide a series of bike-powered outdoor movies. From a cemetery to abandoned movie theaters to a velodrome, the series has something for everyone — at least for those who prefer transportation by two spoked wheels. The movies are presented in places that the stories are about, making the experience all that more inspired.

    @mikeec, those generators produce power by spinning magnets which creates resistance. Each system is sized to produce as much power as an average human adult can provide. Like any energy production system you are most efficient at matching the generator size with the energy source- coal steam volume, wind sweep area, hydro pressure and volume, or human legs.

    A question I’ve had about bike power is why not put a bunch of DC generators in the back of one bike? that way one person is producing let’s say the amount 5 separate bikers would do by having 5 generators on one rear tire.
