South African artist Freya Jobbins recycles doll parts into disturbing new assemblages that will give you and your child nightmares. Inspired by Guiseppe Archimboldo’s work with fruit and vegetables, and interested in the intersection between consumer fetishism and increasing popular recycling initiatives, Jobbins works almost exclusively with old toy parts formed into haunting 3D collages of familiar figures – like the above one of Darth Vader.
