The power gathered from the mini PV panels goes straight into an inverter for plug-in appliance use. Designed with renters in mind, the system is independent of the house and can move with its owners. Like any solar system, it's not incredibly cheap-- an average window costs about $600-- but the idea of a movable source of solar power for homes is pretty darned exciting. It would give the neighbors plenty to talk about.

There were several of these attractive chicken coops by “Rustic Coops” posted throughout West Coast Green. It’s great to see a project take the character of its materials (i.e. the “rusticity” of used wood) and employ it as a design feature.

Some of the most eye-catching stand-outs in the long line of booths were these lanterns made from recycled metal by Living Green Design Solutions. The finishes on the lanterns are also non-toxic.
