Our first though on seeing these solar-power shutters from
Plug n' Save was "Yeah, but only for south facing windows, right?" Turns out this demo was gathering power from the ambient light at Fort Mason. But probably the most exciting (and least sexy) feature of these window shades is in the next slide . . .
There were several of these attractive chicken coops by “Rustic Coops” posted throughout West Coast Green. It’s great to see a project take the character of its materials (i.e. the “rusticity” of used wood) and employ it as a design feature.
Some of the most eye-catching stand-outs in the long line of booths were these lanterns made from recycled metal by Living Green Design Solutions. The finishes on the lanterns are also non-toxic.
