Fusing technology and style is perhaps one of the biggest challenges designers face today. FurniQi will blend the best of both worlds with their new range of wireless-charging nature-inspired furniture that seeks to be both beautiful and practical. The FurniQi line seamlessly marries modern convenience with high style by embedding hidden Qi wireless charging technology inside sustainable wood furniture.
As the leading technology in its field, Qi wireless charging is available in a growing variety of electronic devices. IKEA used the same wireless charging technology in their furniture line, which was released in the spring. Now, FurniQi is gearing up to launch a crowdfunding campaign to finance a line of nature-inspired furniture infused with Qi technology. The first offering will be a bamboo side table.
The integration of wireless charging into everyday furniture pieces is a unique design approach to our pesky reliance on smartphones and tablets. Wireless charging allows folks to idly set their phones or tablets down on a side table without fumbling for a charger, or having to move it from room to room.
FurniQi’s bamboo side table will be on display at DigitalFocus Global on September 4, 2015, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Berlin.
