General Motors is working hard to boost the number of hybrid and electric models in its lineup. According to Mary Barra, GM’s senior vice president of Global Product Development, General Motors expects to have 500,000 vehicles on the road with some form of electrification by 2017, with a focus on plug-in technology. GM’s most popular electric model is the Chevy Volt, but GM also offers several hybrid models – and next year the Spark EV will be released.

    This is awesome, GM, the company that killed the Ev1 program in 1999, plans to have 500,000 electric vehicles on the road by 2017, I’m glad though, since I’m to be trying to work for an automotive company when I’m done with school, I feel all the background I’m getting will dramatically help me get the job.
