Graphic designer and artist Stefan Sagmeister is communicating a serious life lesson through an unlikely medium: bananas! Set in patterns of green, yellow and brown, Sagmeister created his giant Banana Wall as part of an art installation for the ‘Things I Have Learned In My Life So Far’ exhibition. While by now this installation is a deep black compost – as the installation was originally exhibited just a few weeks in 2008 - even old life lessons provide something to be gleaned from. And though we can think of many, many other fun things to do with bananas, none of them seem to be quite as profound.

I can appreciate the creativity but what really grabs me about this art is that it’s just so ethically irresponsible. I think there are a lot of people who could have had a bite to eat.
