  3. Katie Contests February 18, 2013 at 5:40 am

I would give this to my parents. They are getting on in years, and I want to keep them around as long as possible! :) This product will offer them green options that they otherwise wouldn’t seek out.

  4. rixturey May 25, 2012 at 12:48 pm

I would give one to my younger sister who is at home recovering from breast cancer surgery and now getting ready to go to chemotherapy. I would be a good way for her and her 17-year-old son to have more awareness about ecological issues and sustainable products. It would also keep her mind entertained while she recuperates.

I hope she will share with me and I would definitely share packages with my friends and relatives all over the country.

  5. sweetcherie May 9, 2012 at 8:39 pm

I’d keep the subscription for myself! I love trying new products and it would be like receiving a gift in the mail every month.

  6. talex May 9, 2012 at 11:59 am

I would give one to my daughter and her two school-aged children, I know they would be so excited to get a package in the mail with ‘surprise’ gifts in it. That would make me happy too.

  7. trishouei May 2, 2012 at 12:38 pm

I would give a box to my sister-in-law simply because she would appreciate it and think it was awesome.

  8. whippeteer April 26, 2012 at 1:03 am

I’ll take a look and keep and share the products.

  9. intrigue1 April 24, 2012 at 11:53 pm

I would probably keep it for myself and share the products with my friends and family.
I am looking for these types of products and by having a subscription, I’d be able to get them without searching all over. I’d help bring awareness about these vendors by sharing the products with others. I think it could help get people to think about changing to more eco-conscious products.

  10. tofufairy April 24, 2012 at 10:12 am

I would love to win this for my mom. For years I have tried to get her to go green. I’ve used everything from fact-based scare tactics to just pleading with her. She will try for a bit and then slide back into her old ways and old products. Its infuriating! LOL I would love to win for me too, because I know that I would use and love everything in the package! Thanks for the chance!!!

  11. Jacqui April 24, 2012 at 9:52 am

I would love to receive the Eco Crate for my daughter who is 21 and still lives with me. To be honest, I have a brother who I am not very close to and doesn’t want to change our ‘situation’. Other than very few distant relations, it is Myself and my Daughter against the world! I have M.E and my daughter helps me so much. Without her, I wouldn’t get through the day. We share EVERYTHING and we are EVERYTHING to each other. We would both get so much joy from this gift. Thankyou

  12. erin p April 24, 2012 at 1:53 am

Whom would I offer the subscription to?
To the one who makes my heart melt like glue gun glue!
Of course that’s my husband, my partner, my mate
To whom I’d give a gift of Eco Crate.

In the melodious words of S&P,
What a mighty mighty good man! this one turned out to be.
    We were only friends many years ago;
Went our separate ways, but always wanted mo’.

In our youth, we’d’ve never thought we’d work out.
    But as the years passed, there remained a flicker of doubt;
We finally gave it a go, and now here we are!
    With a mini-us I’ll call “R” who’s our wee shining star.

Funny how the young friends we were so very mistaken!
Now I stay home with R while hubby brings home the, uh… smoky tempeh strips!
He’s not just my babydaddy, he’s also my friend,
Dreamboat, confidant, supporter till the end.

    Of course we have our spats, and that’s never fun;
Remaining civil all the time is not easily done!
These days tension’s high — his flu, my lack of free time —
But I hope to show my appreciation with this rhyme

Because we’re together at last, for good, for real,
For better, for worse, you know, the whole deal!
And we’re growing together as we raise our tot —
Sometimes I realize my man has changed quite a lot…

E.g., he quit smoking, quit drinking, went veg
Navigates around potted greens and herbs on a ledge
Moved away from friends to be near my folks
And now has to listen to my lame-a** jokes.

He misses us daily, and who wouldn’t, I say?!
He worked hard in school and now works hard for the pay.
Brings creativity to the table, always does a great job!
But looks forward to the drive home to turn the doorknob.

As for me, during the day, it’s a challenge just to eat!
But when (if!) Baby naps, I can finally put up my feet
And devour a sandwich, as would a rabid bat,
While I skim through the latest on Inhabitat.

    When Daddy gets home, our reunion is sweet;
It’s great to see him and little R greet!
We have to make the most of these simple moments; it’s true,
Because someday we’ll look back with remorse that time flew.

We occasionally need a reminder to carpe diem!
For one day we shall hold hands only in a mausoleum…
LOL, with our budget, we’ll be lucky to be cremated!
For now, we’ll hold live hands, as time flies unabated.

Eco Crate would be great for this husband of mine:
As an artist he would love the creative design
    Of the items, as well as their sustainability;
But best of all, I’d make sure he would share them with me!

  13. naturalsuccess April 23, 2012 at 8:37 pm

I don’t deserve, but would like to win this year subscription of Lost Crates for myself :) because I’m interested in using natural products in all areas of my life. This crate gives me a chance to sample different eco-friendly products that are not only good for the environment but good for me :)

  14. nattiedaddy April 23, 2012 at 7:40 pm

We are trying so hard to adopt a greener lifestyle, bit by bit, piece by piece, and this would be an awesome way to make that transition more fluid!

  15. saniel April 23, 2012 at 12:06 pm

I would give this to myself-my birthday just passed and i was unable to give anything to myself and these would be great gifts. I also want to start up a store/warehouse all things eco-friendly/green, DIY craft space(hold classes and workshops), have a community garden w recycling and compost. I live for being GREEN!!

  16. Arbre Amer April 22, 2012 at 6:40 am

Once again I meet my age old philosophical Nemesis: does anyone really deserve anything? Does the word “deserve” carry any meaning at all in our contemporary moral system? If I want something really bad or want to give it to somebody as a gift, does this mean I am entitled to it? This kind of logic is utterly materialistic and quite the opposite of green thinking. Our never-ending and unjustifiable claims on natural resources is what made us the biggest threat to this planet. The only goods one might be said he deserves are those of a moral nature. Equality, freedom, respect are what everyone deserves. Anything else needs to be conquered.

  17. mgmomma April 22, 2012 at 4:09 am

I would like to win this for my family. It’s time to practice what we preach and start being more healthy at home, getting rid of plastic products, baggies, bottles etc..Plus I am a caregiver to my 18mo niece and for her sake now is the time to start her early on a healthy lifestyle.

  18. John Dykhouse April 21, 2012 at 10:44 pm

Thanks for sharing this interesting product with us! I would give the crate subscription to my wife. She is a third grade teacher (teaching multi-age 3rd – 5th next year). This would be an exciting thing for her class to look forward to each month. She is always very eco-motivated within her classroom, planting native gardens, cultivating vegetable gardens, reusing items, etc. Wouldn’t it be cool for the kids to receive goodies each month supporting their efforts that they can share with family and friends?

  19. at April 21, 2012 at 2:21 pm

Lovely idea! I would give the very first box to my mother for Mother’s Day, for sure. :)

  20. bartleby April 21, 2012 at 7:06 am

  21. Heather S.S. April 20, 2012 at 6:50 pm

I would keep it for myself 😉 My baby is due to arrive any day now and this would make a lovely gift. Maybe my baby will be born on earth day!
I subscribe to your newsletter and like you on FB (HL Susong)

  22. becky713 April 20, 2012 at 3:43 pm

I would use the stuff from these boxes in my own house. We are having our first child soon and trying to use more eco-friendly stuff around the house!

  23. sunnymay April 20, 2012 at 3:37 pm

The Eco Crate Subscriptionwould be for me, since I love good surprises coming in the mail. My 5 adult children would share the monthly goodies. Growing up in a family who maintained a portion of the Buckeye Trail for 30 years, I know about being a steward for the environment. My kids love to hike and enjoy being in the parks. It’s a family tradion to be conservationalists and make sure there are natural places available for generations to come.

  24. chelesncheese April 20, 2012 at 3:49 am

I would share them among myself and my friends/family! I have been working over the past 2 years at becoming more and more self-sufficient and in turn have inspired those closest to me to do better at it themselves. I’d love to share the riches!

  25. marilyn0732 April 20, 2012 at 1:16 am

I would give an eco-crate subscription to myself! I’m a high school student, and I just wrote a paper about organics, natural living, and the environment. I organized an Earth Hour party among my high school friends, and I plan on doing the same for Earth Day! Living a “green” lifestyle is something that I am passionate about, and handing out samples to my friends and family from an eco-crate would be a great way to talk to them about living an eco-friendly lifestyle.

  26. cheri smith April 19, 2012 at 1:52 pm

I would give an eco-crate subscription to my son, Benjamin. He lives life as an adventure and invests in moments not just possessions. Tools from lost crates that help him have more experiences would enhance his journey.

  27. justina April 18, 2012 at 5:01 pm

I’m extremely intrigued by what really is inside. Maybe I’ll have a chance to check it 😉

  28. kammi April 18, 2012 at 3:49 pm

I would suggest my co worker since she likes monthy boxes too. If I get those, I always share with her.

  29. birdforbeans April 18, 2012 at 1:42 pm

I would give the subscription to my brother, Neal, because his small family is on a limited budget, and he has just begun a Daddy blog. I would love to hear what he thinks of the products, and how his young daughter plays with them. His sense of sarcasm, and appreciation for efficient effective living would be wonderful to read about… and then, maybe he would pass on some of the stuff to me :)

  30. cjstephens April 18, 2012 at 12:54 pm

I’d give the crate to, well, me. Thinking globally and acting locally. Really locally.

  31. aznatural1 April 18, 2012 at 12:45 pm

Give Away the Crate to my grassroots team of 5 who are putting on the 4th annual Be Green and Be Healthy Fair, this weekend, for the fourth year in a row without a budget. This is a popular event, that we run strictly on partnerships and donations, no city money is used to make this event happen. The website is: and we have over 80 vendors coming to the Surprise Stadium, plus a Super Senior Center Swap Meet, and a Shred-a-thon, to shred documents. It’s so cool that we have passionate people who make the community engaged and inspired to do for others. I want to reward them for their hard work and for making a difference in our community!

  32. michelleheim April 18, 2012 at 11:03 am

I would give the Eco Crate to my husband. I have been trying to get him to be more mindful of the products he uses. Now when he recycles something or uses an earth friendly product, he says he does it because he “loves the Earth.” I think this would be a great gift to help him on his way.

  33. fonc April 18, 2012 at 11:01 am

I would love to win a monthly subscription and have the surprise of opening up the box each month! As a design student, I love the range of exciting eco products that you offer, which would be a constant source of information to me!

  34. owens1299 April 18, 2012 at 10:50 am

I would love it for me… or my best friend… I am always looking for new things to try and this looks like a great way to do it…

  35. JustJill April 18, 2012 at 10:43 am

It would be very tempting to keep this for myself – but I would share it with lots of people in my family. My nieces would love it for sure! And it would be so fun to see what’s in the box each month!

  36. alma1902 April 18, 2012 at 9:55 am

I don’t think I could resist opening the first one, others would be shared around with family and friends and their kids, good to teach them from an early age about science and nature and our place in it and these would possibly be better educational tools than most text books (too many words not enough pictures!).

  37. cachexic April 18, 2012 at 12:21 am

what a fantastic idea! i think the products would fit right in line with my vegan lifestyle. i would love to share the products with my mom, who although is fairly eco-friendly, tends to buy things that are the “cheapest” rather than the best for our world and ourselves.

  38. cachexic April 18, 2012 at 12:12 am

what a fantastic idea! i would love to try out these products – looks like they fall right in line with my vegan lifestyle. i would share with my mom, who is pretty eco-friendly, but tends to buy the “cheapest” stuff possible rather than the best thing for us and the world overall.

  39. rachelann April 17, 2012 at 5:16 pm

I would give this subscription to my step-daughter, Lauren. She is 11 years old and loooves packing her own lunches for school. She is a painter and loves painting wonderful pictures of mother earth. She recycles and has just became interested in making her own seed paper. I know she would enjoy this beyond belief!
    thank You!

  40. Cocheta April 17, 2012 at 5:07 pm

I have 7 children and only ONE daughter who is 14 and so this would be a perfect gift for her as she is beginning to pay attention to what is ‘good’ for her and what isn’t and as a mother of so many children, I believe this would be the best gift for me to have her understand with this goodie bag that living a conscious lifestyle has so many rewards and I would be ever so thankful!

  41. Ktlucas April 17, 2012 at 2:10 pm

One of my best friends, and soon to be roommate, would be the perfect recipient of these crates. She just packed her car and moved across the country to begin a year serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA working on mine lands watershed restoration. She is doing good for very little and came to CO with essentially what she could carry — these crates would be a continual inspiration to keep on doing such good work!

And, hey — as her roommate I can’t deny that I would love to borrow a reusable bento box or two as well!

  42. DenzilDragon April 17, 2012 at 2:02 pm

All my family are back in the UK, so I’d keep this for me & my fella. We’re buying a new home soon, and we aim to make it as eco-friendly as possible (grey water system, veganic garden, eco appliances, etc), so the stuff in the Eco Crate will come in very handy.

  43. Paulala April 17, 2012 at 1:35 pm

I would share this with my daughter Theresa!

  44. homerinsf April 17, 2012 at 12:51 pm

Keeping those fingers crossed !! Hope to share them with my family and friends and spread the eco-LOVE!

  45. Lynchs April 17, 2012 at 12:45 pm

If I were to win these crates of awesome, I admit it would be very difficult to share. However, I have very deserving friends and family so it’s still a possibility. I think I would make a great candidate and here’s why; I’m a graduate student at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. I’m working on a MBA in nonprofit management specializing in sustainable international development, and my passion is social enterprise as a means to create sustainable economies in developing regions. I believe there is a vast untapped wealth of knowledge and innovation that, given the opportunity, can fundamentally reshape the way we perceive business and philanthropy. I also have a background in design, and am easily excited by smart, simple solutions. More importantly, I do a lot of homework and would love a present once in a while!

  46. rita_gaja_doida April 17, 2012 at 12:07 pm

Obviously, I could lie and tell you I was going to give to my best friend or my mom or whatever. And I will, but the first one is for me.
The others I will share with my friends and family, on their birthdays, and I’ll save a lot on presents. And that will make me zen, besides, that way I can share my happiness and part of my beauty secrets too!

Wait, what am I talking about?? I just re-read all that’s in the crates, and I decided not to share. Yes, I’m keeping all to myself. I deserv it: I study, I cook, I clean, I work, I’m trying to exercise, and I need a break.

That’s it, so please give it to me! And you’ll find a friend for life, and also create an addict on the Lost Crates produts. But don’t feel bad, I don’t mind at all..

  47. Scriptunas April 17, 2012 at 12:02 pm

I would give an Eco Crate subscription to my five-year-old daughter, Estella, to inspire her with a sense of environmental responsibility. I hope that when she goes off to school, her classmates will notice her water bottle and bento box and go home and ask their parents if they can pack their lunches in reusable containers. It’s astonishing how much wasted food and packaging from school cafeterias ends up in landfills!
