Such an amazing prize and one that keeps on giving. With so many interesting new finds arriving each month, it would be fun to gift this not to one person but to surprise different friends and family members with “very merry unbirthday” gifts throughout the year.

  2. Trace15 April 11, 2012 at 7:32 pm

Inhabitat is my place for ideas and innovation and of course Lost Crates/ECO CRATES are brilliant and I’d be Over the Moon if I won! Thanks for making GREEN cool!

  3. kkonen April 11, 2012 at 7:26 pm

I would send the subscription to myself and share it with my friends. I am a fiend for packaging and would love to see all of the eco-friendly packaging or “non” packaging that might be contained in this monthly box of fun! Plus, living in the the desert, there may be some great goodies in there to make life easier!

  4. drooee April 11, 2012 at 6:18 pm

YES! I want to win, I never win anything. :( …. hopefully that
sad face will turn around. :)

  5. intensev5 April 11, 2012 at 6:18 pm

I would love to win this for myself. I am trying to be more GREEN and teaching my kids how to as well. I deserve a treat!!!

  6. intensev5 April 11, 2012 at 6:17 pm

I subscribe via email – thanks for the chance to win.

  7. intensev5 April 11, 2012 at 6:16 pm

I subscribe via email — thanks for the chance to win.

  8. dbaldi April 11, 2012 at 6:15 pm

Gift subscription would go to start up non-profit, MITCH Collective, in appalachia–in the Ohio River Valley. Their mission is to model environmental sustainability and incite the inner creativity that has long been dormant in this area. This would be a great boost for generating discussion and some excitement for Mondays at MITCH open houses.

  9. manuelo108 April 11, 2012 at 6:06 pm

I am 17 years old and my passion is to design environmentally friendly products in the future. This package would first of all inspire me a lot and secondly I would be able to share it with my sister and two brothers and my parents who always support me. I really love your website and extraordinary designs that you post regularly.

  10. carendianna April 11, 2012 at 5:56 pm

I would love this for myself! Being a recent college graduate not only do I try to save money but be eco-friendly as well!

  11. melissah April 11, 2012 at 5:47 pm

I would love a crate of green goodies. I just had a baby and we are trying to be as green as we can :)

  12. janezy April 11, 2012 at 5:38 pm

I’d start an eco-friendly gadgets/products gallery, and invite friends & family over regularly for swap events!

  13. fauvette April 11, 2012 at 5:17 pm

There’s no one person I would give it to. I would share it between all my friends.

  14. theresan April 11, 2012 at 5:14 pm

I do it for myself, so I could go through it box and share with the person who’d like it the most.

  15. emilypaul613 April 11, 2012 at 5:14 pm

Hi! I would give the subscription to my mother and sister. I’m in college and have had a hard time adjusting, and they were always there for me every step of the way to help me through it. They would send me beautiful little packages that would make my day and help me stay positive through everything. I would love to be able to do the same for them, so that every month they get a surprise in the mail that makes them smile as much as I did from their gifts.

  16. iloveegypt1 April 11, 2012 at 5:05 pm

I’d give it to my sister who is sick with cancer. I think it would cheer her up, thanks for offering it!

  17. tecolote April 11, 2012 at 5:00 pm

repurpose, recycle, reuse. I would give these gifts as gifts to others.

  18. andrew van ees April 11, 2012 at 4:52 pm

Planning a long distance hike and some of this stuff would be great.

  19. BlueOak April 11, 2012 at 4:49 pm

I need green-convincing. Green is good when it also makes economic sense. Free = easy economic threshold. This would be for me.

  20. LibertyaS April 11, 2012 at 4:47 pm

I would give to my mother who is always holding the family together and takes great care to show love and compassion to other children she takes care of as well others, my father for always giving to his family and his charity to those unfortunate, and my brother because he serves our country and strives to make a difference with himself and this world.

  21. EarthMother April 11, 2012 at 4:43 pm

I would give lost crates to me since I’ve only made an average of $10,000.00 a year for the past 30 years. (In college now, for upgrade.) I am the greenest person I know.

  22. saintsalvage April 11, 2012 at 4:38 pm

I’m always looking for ways to “green up” my routine, and I’d love to share these “care packages” with my family if I were to win. Also….. I’d blog about each and every one on my blog:

  23. Pamela937 April 11, 2012 at 4:38 pm

Please enter me on this one!

  24. jcdvt April 11, 2012 at 4:35 pm

I would give this to myself because I would appreciate the contents more than friends or family and it would be like Christmas every month!

  25. spareohs April 11, 2012 at 4:35 pm

My boyfriend has made tremendous strides to lead a more eco-friendly lifestyle. His birthday is coming up and I’m currently unemployed, so this would make the perfect gift! Help a sistah out!

  26. expattx April 11, 2012 at 4:34 pm

I would give this to my wife, she deserves to get spoilt with a mystery gift each month

  27. lilmomocollon April 11, 2012 at 4:31 pm

I would share the subscription with my whole family, everyone month would be for someone so by the end of the year each person would have 2 crates. We all do what we can to live a greener lifestyle and these goodies will help us and the environment I’m sure. Surprise eco-goodies in the mail would be great!

  28. andrea7 April 11, 2012 at 4:26 pm

I would give this to myself :) I’m constantly trying to live a greener lifestyle and who doesn’t enjoy getting mail??

  29. Airdancer April 11, 2012 at 4:26 pm

I love, love, love your site and Eco Crates but my budget is SO tight I can’t afford to go the extra green step with Eco Crates, so I “go green” with everything I can and practice the 3 R’s (reduce, reuse and recycle)!

  30. smmarkle78 April 11, 2012 at 4:21 pm

I would give myself which also means my husband and my grandma a subscribtion. We try all we can do to help the environment and ourselves. We eat right, raise our own chickens and ducks, grow our own garden, recycle and any other thing we can do to help.
P.S. I have also added Lost crates of fb.

  31. a2thec April 11, 2012 at 4:21 pm

I would get one for my family (myself/wife/dogs), and my parents/in-laws. 😀

  32. a2thec April 11, 2012 at 4:19 pm

I need some of this stuff

  33. kylehance April 11, 2012 at 4:17 pm

I’ve been trying to lead the way in my family to do more to be green, like growing my own garden on my apartment balcony. My parents aren’t totally convinced yet, but I’m working on them! I think that this monthly package could be a great way for me to show them different ways they can be green and hopefully convince them to join me in the endeavor!

  34. rvm4 April 11, 2012 at 4:14 pm

Gonna be selfish on this one because I love cool stuff (although I will share bits and pieces).

  35. nbachiri April 11, 2012 at 4:10 pm

I would give it to my family who has been great at putting up with my endeavors so far. I learn something new every day and try to implement as much as I can in our lives. And of course I share with all my friends…

  36. devonts April 11, 2012 at 4:09 pm

I would split the goodie box between myself and my niece–she’s two years old, and starting beautiful, young, green life!… and I would love to the non-kid-friendly products!

  37. gVieve April 11, 2012 at 4:05 pm

I’d give this to my sister. She just landed her first job after months of unemployment and working hard at a very low-wage internship. Having free eco-goodies would be a great money-saver for her. On top of that, she moved to a new city where she doesn’t know many people, and I think getting monthly packages would brighten her life!

  38. smc50118 April 11, 2012 at 4:02 pm

I’d probably end up giving most of it away. I’ve got way too much stuff as it is.

  39. heavenly8 April 11, 2012 at 4:01 pm

My sister who lives on a farm and swears by nasty toxins such as bleach, skin care, shampoos, etc. She thinks only toxic cleaners are the way to clean and get great hair care. I love her but the debate has to end and she needs a reality check.

  40. Brandina April 11, 2012 at 4:01 pm

I would totally give this to myself because I think I’d appreciate the different aspects of the products more than most people I know (who tend to give me a hard time about my about eco-consciousness and think it’s ridiculous). But I’m from TX, and it’s just taking longer to get people on board the green train 😉 I always share products like these with my friends and family though, so I might give certain items to certain people according to their taste.

I subscribe (for a long time now) and like you on FB and have added Lost Crates to my likes :)

  41. reesied April 11, 2012 at 3:58 pm

My husband, because he stays home with our 2 year old & works hard at raising him! :)

  42. juliawakefield April 11, 2012 at 3:52 pm

I’d love to give this subscription to my sister! She sets the standard in our family for environmental awareness and conservation, animal rights, and holistic healing – the most conscientious and empathetic person I know. She just graduated from medical school, so she’s finally making a little money – but it’s ALL going to her student loans, so she has difficulty affording the organic and environmentally-friendly products she needs. (She’d rather go without them than buy something tested on animals, containing animal products, or containing environment-harming ingredients) Not to mention the expensive cruelty-free raw chicken she feeds her cats every day! She deserves this more than anyone I know and I’d love to be able to give her this gift as a “thank you” for being a role model to our entire family and all her friends. (and to take the pressure off of her budget as well.) Love you always sis!

  43. Ravenscourt April 11, 2012 at 3:52 pm

Well i already get your newsletter and like you on FB…so guess i have to comment : ) I was think this would be such cool thing to win cause i could share it with my friends. I love giving little pressy’s to people when they need a lift or just cause i love them!!! Keep up the great work.

  44. amaryst April 11, 2012 at 3:50 pm

I want all of my family to get this subscription. To remind them that they too can make conscious choices around what they buy.

  45. Kennit April 11, 2012 at 3:45 pm

I would give this to myself and my best friend to share. We’ve taken a lot of financial knocks this year being low-income students, so having something like this to look forward to would be a such a treat.

  46. greensthings April 11, 2012 at 3:41 pm

If I were to win, I would give an Eco-crate subscription to my Mom! She is the one who has taught me about caring for the Earth, Recycling, Re purposing items, Gardening, Composting, Sewing etc!

I am already a subscriber and a friend on FB. I did add Lost Crates as a friend now as well!

  47. js74 April 11, 2012 at 3:40 pm

I’d use the subscription for myself as part of teaching my two young children about being as green as possible in all aspects of life. They have a subscription to a book club and get so excited when they get their mystery book in the mail every month. With this they could get excited about receiving green goodies each month! :)

  48. mirceaNewYork April 11, 2012 at 3:39 pm

To my two-mothers-in-law. As you may think they actually are nasty and totally careless about the environment. Some good stuff would probably help them be more aware of the problems and surely less annoying with me…

  49. Hsuanwei April 11, 2012 at 3:36 pm

I would really like to win a year’s worth of Lost Crates for my brother. Because I’m the most vocal self-proclaimed environmentalist in my family, he has gotten me rather amazing eco-themed birthday gifts since I’ve developed an environmental consciousness, from solar-powered flashlights from companies following the “buy-one, give-one (to a recipient in rural Africa without access to the power grid)” philosophy (this is actually a great gift idea: to eco-soaps without any additives, to my very first electric shaver, so that I wouldn’t have to dispose of blades so often. However, I’ve only given him some rather shoddy gifts in return in the past few years (when I remember his birthday at all… yikes) — vases, picture frames and such made from reused/recycled materials generated by my college lifestyle, and a WWI gas mask I brought back from Hungary. If I could win this subscription for him, I think that would make up for all the years of me being a terrible brother, and maybe some of the gadgets he receives in the mail will turn into wonderful gifts for me and other loved ones in his life as well — to continue his trend of thoughtful eco-gift-giving, and environmentally-friendly practice of re-gifting (and therefore reducing!). :)

  50. makingadreamhome April 11, 2012 at 3:33 pm

I’d split it between me and my mom.

  51. iamajor April 11, 2012 at 3:32 pm

I would give my wife a subscription, who is pregnant with our first child! Wouldn’t it be great to start our child’s life learning and being surrounded by the contents of the crates? Can’t think of a better gift for a newborn! (I know at first he/she will not be able to recognize most of it, but they will be in a lot of pictures and there for them when they begin to explore their surroundings, right?)

  52. ang April 11, 2012 at 3:32 pm

I would give this to my boyfriend, he needs all the organizational help he can get. We are always looking for green products and if it saves me time not having to get after him about his piles, I guess the gift would really be for myself!

  53. andycourt2001 April 11, 2012 at 3:29 pm

Its all mine!!! I really like the idea, great way to find out new stuff…

  54. kholstrom April 11, 2012 at 3:26 pm

I would use it myself at work – and help spread the word through our newsletter and organization.

  55. ecwrites April 11, 2012 at 3:23 pm

I’d love it! Wish my friends and family were more into buying green.

  56. vshoe April 11, 2012 at 3:20 pm

I would give this to my sister, Boolie. For years, she has gone the extra mile to ensure that everything in her life is green, organic and natural. She goes out of her way to ensure that everything that her children and husband use and eat is certified organic, green and clean. From food to cleaners to clothing to toys for her kids, she is the most dedicated person I know to this type of lifestyle

  57. HannaHop April 11, 2012 at 3:20 pm

    What a great giveaway!

  58. workingglassgal April 11, 2012 at 3:19 pm

Oh, please pick us! Our family would love this, and as a green blogger, I’m also looking to test drive new eco products.

  59. patyred April 11, 2012 at 3:18 pm

I would give this to my husband.. We work hard to be sustainable.. grow our own veggies, cloth diaper, use public transportation and walk whenever possible.. use rain barrels, and of course line dry! We work hard and this would be a great little reward for all the work!

  60. shelbyhohl April 11, 2012 at 3:17 pm

I think I, meaning me and my 4 roomates, should win this. Two of us just moved from Texas to Los Angeles, into a 2 bedroom apartment with the other two of us, and when you mix two Texans and two Californians, you get an ecological disaster. We’re pretty much looking for anything to help us Wall-E our filth up and get it right for mother nature. Help us help ya’ll.

  61. greenergreengrass April 11, 2012 at 3:14 pm

I want to share the love with all my friends! They all deserve a little something, so I would give a Lost Crate to a different friend each time.

  62. cbellk April 11, 2012 at 3:09 pm

I’d give one to my brother. He’s a bit mentally disabled, and has been having some health issues lately, and I think it would be a great thing to give to the best man in my wedding.

  63. mgonyeo April 11, 2012 at 3:04 pm

I would give this to my sister. I would love for my two young nephews to grow up more eco friendly!

  64. kjscarpati April 11, 2012 at 2:46 pm

I would send to my sister-in-law who is preparing for a long term disaster.

  65. Maddenhatter April 11, 2012 at 2:38 pm

My son would dig this. He will be 16 next week and he loves to show off his “earth-friendly” items to all his hip friends.

  66. huber April 11, 2012 at 2:29 pm

I would send this to my boyfriend–I know he’ll share all the surprises with me!

  67. Jennro April 11, 2012 at 2:24 pm

I would share with my friend/fashion consultant/accessory diva and fellow designer Tracy. She loves new toys and tools as much as I do — and we design girls need to stick together!

  68. Antler April 11, 2012 at 2:23 pm

I have some friends who are taking a very advanced approach to keeping their footprint small. They are starting from scratch out in a rural location. Totally off-grid, hunting, gathering and cultivating. This will provide them with much needed releief from all that hard work. Getting something like this in the mail every month will be something fun for them.

  69. laurelsmith77 April 11, 2012 at 2:18 pm

I’d give the subscription to my mom because she’s not particularly eco-conscious and it would inspire her to change her ways. Also I think she’s a bit bored now that she’s retired and it would really brighten her day!! :)

  70. spazikat April 11, 2012 at 2:17 pm

I just discovered this website this morning, and I can tell I’m going to be spending a lot of time here! I’ve posted at least 3 of the articles to Facebook just today 😀 If I won this great prize, I would share it with the members of my Community Garden Club. We are working to transform our local recycling center into a Community Garden and Native Plant Nursery. We also volunteer our hands, minds, tools, and library to folks who would like to make the most out of their small urban backyard spaces, with the emphasis on growing food. Our loftiest goal is to establish an urban food forest! It’s sometimes hard but always gratifying work, and I feel so blessed to have met these awesome people. I’d love to share this prize with them, they deserve it 😀 “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” -Margaret Mead

  71. Frion April 11, 2012 at 2:12 pm

Love the site and giveaway, thanks!

  72. gr8tfuldayz April 11, 2012 at 1:27 pm

I would loooove to win this! I send my Mom care packages all the time so of course I would share my goodies with her!

I have always taken steps to green my life but recently I took the big one – I went vegan!!! I’m so proud of myself for finally doing it instead of just talking about it so I think I deserve a little gift.

I already get the newsletter & like you on FB so I went & liked Lost Crates, too! <3

    Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  73. bree April 11, 2012 at 12:41 pm

My daughter loves getting surprise mail! I would definitely give it to her (and keep for myself the items she doesn’t use!).

  74. carlosandiaz April 11, 2012 at 12:37 pm

I’d give the package to myself, and then..and the share with my eco-friendly family.

  75. Hucklebe April 11, 2012 at 12:24 pm

I would treat each package like a treasure chest and hand out one wee prize to different friends, family members, coworkers and random people on the street. (I would need to share, free gifts for a year, no reason not to.)

  76. NicoleAnne April 11, 2012 at 12:23 pm

I would send a subscription to the Environmental Studies Student Association (or my program association) at my university so they can use them as prizes for various events throughout the year. While we do really great stuff, sometimes it’s difficult to find eco-friendly goodies to give out as a thanks when we’re strained on funding – so winning this giveaway would be awesome!! Wish I could afford monthly Lost Crates myself!

  77. christinarobev April 11, 2012 at 12:16 pm

What a great giveaway! A perfect addition to my eco-friendly lifestyle (I’m trying!). I love getting mail, and this is the best kind. Namaste!

  78. Catherine Adele April 11, 2012 at 12:16 pm

Oh dear, I think I would nominate myself and then share!

  79. christinarobev April 11, 2012 at 12:15 pm

What a great giveaway! The perfect addition to my eco-friendly lifestyle (I’m trying!). I love getting mail, and this is the best kind. Namaste!

  80. dtchong April 11, 2012 at 12:13 pm

I would send this to my brother-in-law. He and his wife are raising two girls, and their lifestyle isn’t even remotely eco friendly. They don’t recycle, lights aren’t turned off when they leave the room, and they drive everywhere. However, they are all four suckers for style. Perhaps the contents of these boxes would encourage them to live just a little bit greener.

  81. jessami1 April 11, 2012 at 12:00 pm

I would love to win this. I live on a tight budget that does allow for very many eco products. I would share the products with my mother-in-law who I have tried endlessly to make eco friendly. I think she would love these products.

  82. Jasmin Malik Chua April 11, 2012 at 11:45 am

I love those little blind boxes you get at Kid Robot. This is like that, but at a grander scale! I nominate my sister—she would get a kick out of these.

  83. Judi C April 11, 2012 at 11:42 am

This would be perfect for my new daughter-in-law. She is the most Eco friendly person I know. She is involving the whole family to live a greener lifestyle. She is the most savvy person when it come to green lifestyles. My daughter-in-law an son are trying to make a difference in this community and with the family. Perfect for a wonderful, caring person. Both are very hard working people trying to make a difference and start their new life together.

  84. Leon Kaye April 11, 2012 at 11:36 am

I would give it to my dear friend Tricia, who lives and breaths sustainability while working in a corner of the California desert where eco-products are hard to come by.

  85. Marc Carter April 11, 2012 at 11:36 am

Very cool! I’d probably keep the fun stuff for myself, then spread the rest to my “green” friends!

  86. mzzjeanbean April 11, 2012 at 11:35 am

I’d love to win this awesome gift for my grandmother! She is truly a superwoman in her own right and I look up to her and love her so much!

  87. Yuka Yoneda April 11, 2012 at 11:35 am

Sorry – I should mention that I would nominate my sister to receive these gift boxes. She’s a hard-working ER doctor so she doesn’t have much time to purchase eco goods for herself. This would be a great way to repay her for all she does!

  88. jeffmcclellan April 11, 2012 at 11:34 am

I’d give the subscription to myself. I like getting goodies delivered to me!

  89. Judi April 11, 2012 at 11:33 am

  90. turnageb April 11, 2012 at 11:24 am

I’d love to win this for my sister; she is always looking for great products to use around the home that will protect her and her family from unwanted chemicals and other nasty stuff.

I’d like to give a subscription to my wife Angie. We have 4 young children who we’re trying to raise in a eco friendly way, but it’s tough in this consumerist world in which we live!

I’d give the package to myself, to use for the survival of my son and myself.

I’d give the subscription to… myself. No shame, right? Getting mystery packages is totally underrated.

My grandma is always sending presents through the mail, she deserves some green goodie boxes – getting mail is the best!

Great products! I’d give the subscription to my dad. Being the King of Thrift that he is, he deserves a little green luxury!

I wish I could win this…Maybe my alter ego Puka Poneda can.

Best. Contest. EVER! I would give the subscription to my mother, who does so much for my family but asks for little in return. She deserves a special treat!

I’d give it to my brother – I never bought him a wedding gift so I owe him – plus who doesn’t like surprises?

This would be so perfect for my husband, he works pretty hard to keep the family organized, and loves receiving goodies in the mail!

I am definitely entering this, I love to get mail!!
