Gallery: Glass and Cor-ten Steel Cloudy Bay Shack Offers Gorgeous Views...

The gorgeously creative home is clad in weathered steel on the façade facing the road.

Wine distributors, journalists and wine sellers are all in for a treat when visiting the Richmond Ranges vineyards. The gorgeously creative façade facing the road is clad in weathered steel, which emulates the historic rural architecture of the region with a modern twist.

The back of the house is clad in floor to ceiling glazed glass walls that open to seamlessly blend the indoors with the green landscape. The living and common areas are on the glass-enclosed first floor, while the second floor houses the bedrooms. The entire second floor is lined with local timber louvers, which give guests privacy while filtering in natural light. The interior is also clad with local sustainable timber to accentuate the house’s connection to the local land.

The odd shaped house ensures a focused view of the Richmond Ranges, which can be seen from the windows of all bedrooms and bathrooms. The razor-blade shape harmonizes with the landscape, while sharing its beauty with guests.
